How to translate Kick streams into your language

Kick has no built-in captions or translation, so a stream in another language is hard to follow. Echo Captions recognizes the speech on the stream and shows a translation over the video, in most languages about a second behind the streamer. It works on live streams and on past broadcasts.

Steps

  1. 01

    Install Echo Captions

From the Chrome Web Store. No account for the first try.

  2. 02

Open a Kick stream or past broadcast

    Any channel, any language.

  3. 03

Click the Echo button in the player

It appears in Kick’s player controls. One click starts translation.

  4. 04

    Choose your language

In the popup; 81 languages are available.

If the button doesn’t appear

  • —Reload the Kick page after installing or updating the extension.
  • —Make sure the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions.
  • —If the stream has no speech (music only), there is nothing to translate.

Free minutes and plans

Live translation runs continuously, so it uses the daily allowance faster than a regular video: about a minute and a half of live a day as a guest (about 7 minutes on your first day) and about 3 minutes with a free account, enough to see it work on a real stream. On a plan: Echo Lite ($1.99 a month) about 10 minutes of live a day, Echo Pro ($3.99) about 40 minutes, Echo Unlimited ($15.99) about 130 minutes.
