What’s new
What we’ve shipped lately, newest first.
Current extension version: 2.4.8On Kick, the Echo button is back in the player, next to the settings icon. Past broadcasts on Twitch and Kick now get captions too, not just live streams. Live captions now come translated about a second after people speak, in most languages.
Live streams now understand more than 60 spoken languages, including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish and Russian. When several people talk, each voice gets its own color, with a short legend on the video. Live captions keep going after ads, and a video without captions now says so instead of staying silent. Echo’s own menus and notices, and this website, now come in every language it translates into.
Subscribers can move to a bigger plan straight from their account page and pay only the difference. The FAQ is now in every language on this site.
Clearer free limits: the welcome page says up front how much is free, and hitting the limit on your first day tells you what you get from tomorrow.
Captions follow the language you read, with 77 languages to choose from. The first translated line shows which language Echo picked, with a one-click switch.
Security and reliability improvements for accounts and billing.
Dual-language subtitles show the original line for every source language.
A friendlier first run: a welcome page after install, captions that start on their own on YouTube, and short tips in the player.
This website is now available in 50 languages.
When you reach your daily limit, a notice appears in the subtitle area instead of the captions going quiet.
Three simple plans — Echo Lite, Echo Pro and Echo Unlimited — with the AI included. No API key needed.
A free plan for everyone who signs in, no card needed.
Echo now works on Crunchyroll.
